Metrocar 4024
4024 is a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.
Oddly 4024 had new door buttons installed before its doors were repainted from blue with the yellow Metro M triangle to fully yellow to be updated to be DDA compliant at the time, new LED displays and door window surrounds installed instead of all the slight modification being done at the same time.
4024 along with 4050 were the last Metrocars to ever run in regularly scheduled passenger service however the brakes on both 4024 and 4050 started to fail after Gateshead on the final leg of the tour from South Shields to Airport and going back to Regent Centre to terminate due to how many people were on both units but the units made it to Regent Centre unscathed.
