4051 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.
Oddly 4051 had its DDA compliance updated when it was repainted RGB Green by having its doors repainted fully yellow but still keeping the Metro M triangle and door window surrounds installed before it had new door buttons and LED displays installed instead of all the slight modification being done at the same time.
In April 2006 4051 had its pantograph head ripped clean off but it's not widely known how this happened but it was repaired shortly after.
4051 was the last unit to keep its older Metro M triangle logos on the doors and not receive the Metro M cube logo with METRO below the M.
