Whitley Bay is a station on the North Tyneside Loop. It was built by the North Eastern Railway, later passing into LNER and British Rail ownership, before conversion for Metro use.

Whitley Bay is a station on the coastal part of the North Tyneside Loop on the Yellow Line. It was built by the North Eastern Railway, later passing into LNER and British Rail ownership, before conversion for Metro use.
 
Between July 2023 and Spring 2025 the station underwent a roof restoration after storm damage caused glass panels to fall down.
