4073 is a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham. It was the last surviving metrocar to still use original female announcements, with the audio announcements on every other metrocar being voiced by Mark Bryant. These female announcements are heard on all units coupled to 4073, but only when 4073 is the leading unit. Some of the messages shown on the interior displays are also worded slightly differently to those on other metrocars, regardless of whether 4073 is the leading unit but not affecting other units coupled to 4073.
