4013 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.

4013 along with 4021 were the first unit's to do a tour on the Tyne and Wear Metro.

Oddly 4013 received it's LED displays and new door buttons before its doors were repainted DDA compliance updated by having its doors repainted from red with the yellow Metro M triangle to fully yellow to be complient DDA and receiving door window surrounds instead of all the slight modification being done at the same time.
