4019 is a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham. It was given to the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service's training base in Washington for use in training exercises[1][2][3][4], replacing London Transport 3721[5]. The rail track simulator at the training base also received a 15m extension to accommodate the metrocar[1].
