4034 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.
When 4034 was delivered from refurbishment at Doncaster in November 2013 it was rejected by Nexus after being tagged overnight in Cramlington with graffiti and it was sent back to Wabtec to clean off the graffiti and was eventually delivered again a couple weeks later in December 2013.
4034 was the last Metrocar and currently the last Tyne and Wear Metro rolling stock to wear an advertisement due to the 555s not being wrapped in any advertisements yet.
