4078 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.

Oddly 4078 had new door buttons and LED displays installed before it had its DDA compliance updated by having its doors repainted from red with the yellow Metro M triangle to fully yellow and had door window surrounds installed instead of all the slight modification being done at the same time.

4078 used to be named Ellen Wilkinson with a plaque on each side of the A car but it lost its name when it went away for refurbishment in Doncaster.
