Pelaw

Pelaw is a station on the core section of the Metro network on both the Yellow and Green lines. It is where both lines diverge towards South Shields, and Sunderland & South Hylton respectively. The station underwent a rebuild between 2005 & 2006, resulting in a larger ticket hall and an enclosed waiting room. The station opened on the 15th September 1985, a year after the final section of the original network between Heworth and South Shields opened on 24th March 1984, and the second station to open since then. The stations sidings are commonly used as a turnback point for trains returning to Gosforth Depot at the end of service.
