Livery names
[edit source]Hello, thank you for contributing! The metrocar liveries aren't something I know much about, so I'm glad someone else is doing it haha.
We ended up with three different names for the modern livery: "Nexus Grey" (added by User:Dan91111), "Wabtec" (added by me), and "All Change Black Gray and Yellow" (added by you). I started a discussion in an external group about which name is the most fitting. I ran a poll, where I also proposed a few other fitting names. The consensus ended up being "Nexus Grey". I've found that this name for the livery has been used a couple places in the past, so it might be the most recognizable.
I also briefly discussed with a few people about how precise the names should be, and we agreed that they should generally be kept concise. For example, "ad" instead of "advertisement", and not naming the colours unless necessary.
So, I've edited all the metrocar articles that had held liveries listed to match this consensus. Of course, if you disagree (for example, if the names you are using are some kind of official names), feel free to dispute this. Otherwise, it would be great if you could use these more concise names.
Apologises for not having this discussion on the wiki where you would have been able to partake. Unfortunately, this wiki doesn't have many contributors right now, so it would be difficult to have a diverse discussion here. Grey vs Gray
[edit source]"Grey" is the British spelling, and "Gray" is the American spelling. Since the Tyne and Wear Metro is British, is makes the most sense to use the British spelling. Wikipedia, which our policies and guidelines are derived from, also tends to default to the British spelling. As such, I'm going to rollback your changes to the spelling of "Nexus Grey", and I'll later edit it manually for the others. Hopperelec (talk) 16:14, 18 July 2026 (BST)
