4077 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.

4077 was displayed at the National Railway museum strangely in 1979 before the metro even opened with it presumably going to the PTE in 1980 when the metro opened.

Oddly 4077 had red vertical stripes on the edges on the inside of the doors but this was lost when the doors were reapinted white during the Doncaster refurbishment.

4077 used to be named Robert Stephenson and had a plaque with that name on each side of the A car but it lost it's name when it was refurbished at Doncaster.
