4007 was a production Metrocar built by Metro-Cammell at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.
This unit was badly damaged when it collided with a fallen tree shortly after departing Monkseaton on 30 May 2024 but nobody was injured. It was deemed economically unviable to repair 4007 with its cab being slightly caved in and, as a result, it sat at Howdon Depot for just under a year whilst being stripped of any parts that were needed for other units till being towed away for scrap on 18 February 2025
