Pop

From Tyne and Wear Metro wiki

Pop is a trademark used by Nexus primarily for parts of its smart ticketing infrastructure, such as contactless smart cards (Pop cards). It is also used for the official Tyne and Wear Metro app (the Pop app), for a blog promoting activities in the region (The Pop Blog),[1] and historically for an online store (the Pop Shop).[2]

They officially announced Pop and the Pop Card on 14 February 2011 with a press event held at St James and on board metrocar 4084, which was liveried with Pop branding.[5][6]
